How to sign unsigned applications for Symbian... "It`s Working 100%"
Due to security in the 3rd Edition of S60, applications must be signed before they can be installed. Although most commercial programmes
are already signed, there is a lot of useful freeware where that still must be done for the particular IMEI.
Manual:
First download the necessary software:
1. Enter
http://rapidshare.com/files/34806908/SignSIS-GUI_v1.1.exe.html in the web browser.
2. Click on the “Free” Button.
3. Wait until the download is ready.
4. Choose a download provider.
5. Enter the security code and choose “Download via…”.
Then install the downloaded program on your computer.
For the registration at Symbian Signed, a special email address is required, because SS does not want anybody to register. That’s why most of the famous freemail addresses are locked.
However, a solution is to register a 2ip.com email address.
Follow these steps to register:
6. Open http://www.2ip.com/index.htm in your web browser and choose “Signup now!”

7. Choose a “domain category”.
8. Enter your desired username and choose a domain you like.
9. Fill in the rest of the required fields.
10. Accept the terms of servie and click on “Register”.
11. Confirm the next to boxes.
12. Click on “Mail Account”
13. Fill in your desired information.
14. Click on “Create Mailbox”.
Now you can use your mailbox to register a Symbian Signed account, an activation code will be sent to your address:
15. Open https://www.symbiansigned.com/app/page in the web browser.

16. Click on “Register now”.
17. Type in your registered email address an click on “OK”.
To receive your activation code go on like this:
18. Open http://www.2ip.com/mailmanager.php in the web browser, at best in a new tab.
19. Enter your password and click on “Webmail Login”.
20. Choose the email from Symbian Signed, mark the activation code and copy it to the clipboard.
21. Change to the Symbian Signed registration tab again and paste the activation code.
22. Fill in the fields marked with a star.
23. Enter the security code.
24. Click on “View legal agreement”, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on “I accept”.
25. Finish the registration with a click on “Register now”.
Completing your registration you can start the proper signing:
26. Start “DevCertRequestControl”.

27. Click on DevCert Request.
28. Type in your IMEI which you can figure out by pressing *#06# on your mobile phone keyboard and click on “OK”.
The Programm does now some steps automatically. If the following window appears
a mouse click has been executed. To finish this step succesfully, repeat the steps 19 and 20. This window should appear then:
Now you must login at the Symbian Signed page:
29. Enter username (= your wohle email address) and password and click on “Login”.
30. Back in the DevCertRequestControl click on the upload link.
31. Enter the security code.
32. Click on “Browse…/Durchsuchen…” (or whatever the word means in your language)
33. Choose the Cert Request file (*.csr). If you use Windows Vista, it should be located in “Users\Documents”. In case you use Windows XP, search it in “My Documents”.
34. Click on “Send”.
35. Click on “Download” to download the certificat, choose the folder and click on “Save”.

36. Choose “SignSIS”
37. Save the settings for the IMEI where necesary as a profil.
38. “DevCert:” indicate the path of the just downloaded certificat file.
39. If the field is empty, choose the *.key file which is located in C:\Program Files\SignSIS-GUI\SignSIS.key.
40. Indicate the path of the unsigned file you want to sign.
41. Choose the path of the signed file.
42. Finish the signing procces with a click on “SignSIS”.
That’s it. When you want to sign application once again, of course it is only required to do the steps 26, 36-42.

Publisher ID
I am facing the same problem of Publishe ID, and even i tried to sign without Publisher ID get error, "Application file is too large", or "Network Communication Failure".........somebody please help...

-ONLY if you used a Publisher ID to create a .csr file with the DevCertCreate tool will you be able to use Open Signed Offline to create a Developer Certificate.
-Developer Certificates are currently DISABLED for users without a Publisher ID. Users who DO NOT have a Publisher ID CANNOT request Developer Certificates or use Open Signed Offline.
-If you have recently obtained a Publisher ID and are unable to create a Developer Certificate using Open Signed Offline please request support through the Symbian Signed forum on the Symbian Developer Network here
